The 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 should remain as one of the top sellers in the US, and this model is coming off a redesign so you can expect more refinements to the 2010 Silverado than any major changes. The Silverado’s safety equipment received an important boost with side curtain and seat-mounted side air bags included as standard equipment on all Silverado 1500 trucks.

* StabiliTrak electronic control system is now standard on all models.
* USB connectivity on all radios (except base) stored audio files will play through the audio system; charges battery for some handheld devices.
* Interior door trim has been revised.
* New exterior colors: Taupe Gray Metallic and Sheer Silver Metallic.
* E85 FlexFuel capability on Silverados equipped with 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.2L engines.
* 4.8L and 5.3L engines have variable valve timing, a feature that improves performance and fuel economy.
* Regular and Extended Cab trucks with 5.3L V-8 engines are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
* Side curtain air bags and seat-mounted side air bags are standard on all 1500 Silverado trucks.
* 3.08 axle ratio and fuel saver mode are standard with Silverado trucks equipped with a 5.3L V-8 engine.

New for 2010, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid has the 6.0-liter V8 that pairs with an electric motor for 332 hp total. It can run on one or both power sources, depending on driving requirements, and requires no plug-in charging. The hybrid uses a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The Hybrid’s maximum towing capacity is 6100 lb and it can run on E85.
