Best Price Deals On 2011 GMC Acadia SL’s.
MSRP $32,000
The 2011 GMC Acadia SL is a large crossover SUV. It is truck-based, and is basically one step down from a full size SUV. It is designed for the person who really, really wants a full size SUV but wants to get more than 12-14 mpg in the city. It can hold eight people, which makes it very suitable for family use. The SL is the lowest of five trim levels, but has plenty of conveniences and features.

The 2011 GMC Acadia SL has a 3.6 liter V6 engine that produces 288 horsepower. It has 18-inch alloy wheels, front wheel drive, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting paddles. It is rated at 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. An upgrade to all wheel drive is available.
The Acadia SL comes with cruise control, full power accessories, and front and rear air conditioning. The sound system has 6 speakers, a CD/MP3 player, and satellite radio.
The Acadia comes with all of the modern safety essentials: stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, side front airbags, and side curtain airbags. It also has the patented OnStar emergency communications system. The Acadia passed the government’s upgraded 2011 tests with flying colors, getting 5 stars overall, 4 stars for frontal crash protection, and 5 stars for side impact protection. In addition, it got perfect scores from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.
Conclusions and driver feedback:
The interior is both spacious and atrractive. The dashboard is arranged for both appearance and function; the gauges are easy to read and the controls are in the “right” places. The two-tone color arrangements give the cabin a very nice “feel,” too.
There is plenty of space for everyone here. The front and second row seats are spacious, with both headroom and legroom to spare. The third row seat can actually seat three adults without a can opener being necessary upon exit. There are 24 cubic feet of cargo space behind the seats. If you fold the seats down, though, you can get a total of 117 cubic feet of storage.
The Acadia is tweaked for family use, and both the drive and the ride are high quality. The steering is accurate, but it definitely doesn’t give a sporty response. The suspension handles all of the weight extremely well, though, even when full of passengers. There is some body roll, which is to be expected in a vehicle this large.
In spite of its size, the V6 engine is enough for both acceleration and highway driving. The Acadia gives decent mileage without sacrificing a lot of power. The ride is almost like a family sedan ride, but it will still remind you that you are in a truck sometimes.
As for negatives, there are few. A few of the interior materials are a bit cheap, and the steering radius is too wide, but neither of these detracts from your experience.
The verdict: highly recommended.
