Best Prices On 2010 Kia Soul Sport Wagon’s
The Kia Soul is a unique car. It is called a compact car, a hatchback, or a wagon, depending on who is talking. It looks like a wagon, but the rear roof slants back straight, sorta like a hatchback. It has a total of 5 doors: 4 plus the rear liftgate door. It is a box on wheels, but with just enough aerodynamics to keep it from wasting fuel. 2010 was its first actual mass production year.

The 2010 Kia Soul Sport Wagon is the highest of four trim levels. It has a 2.0 liter inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 142 horsepower. It has 18-inch wheels, front-wheel drive, and a 5-speed manual transmission. It is rated at 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. It goes from zero to sixty in 8.8 seconds.
The Kia Soul Sport Wagon comes with a leather-covered, tilt-only steering wheel, front sport seats with driver height adjustment, a split-folding rear seat, cloth upholstery, cruise control, full-power accessories, air conditioning, a rear spoiler to help offset the center of gravity, a rear defogger, a rear wiper, and foglights.
The Soul Sport Wagon also comes with front side airbags, side curtain airbags, stability control, traction control, and antilock brakes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it their highest rating of “good” in all front and rear impact tests, while the government gave it 5 stars in all front and rear impact tests except for 4 stars for side impact rear passengers.
Conclusions and driver feedback:
Apparently, the designers of the Soul took the name seriously. If there is one “flaw” in Kia’s impressive track record, it’s their reputation for unimaginative interiors. The Soul is nothing like a “normal” Kia. They have gone out of their way to give this car a modern design and bright, happy color schemes, while retaining the practical arrangement of the controls.
There is a lot of headroom in both the front and rear seats because of the high roof, and a lot of legroom in both parts of the cabin because the seats are mounted higher off the ground than those of most cars. Cargo space isn’t luxurious, but adequate.
We chose the Sport trim level for review because it comes with the bigger engine and a sport-tuned suspension. The lower trim levels have a few problems, but a sporty suspension and bigger engine fix most of them. The larger engine gives great acceleration with a little bit of punch. The suspension can take very quick turns, and keeps body roll to a minimum. The steering, though, is a bit numb, even on the sport trim. The ride is sporty, but there are no major jolts and most people don’t even notice it after about five minutes.
The main negative on the Soul is its highway performance. Even the sporty suspension can’t totally rescue it from being noisy and a bit skittish.
The verdict: in the Sport trim, the Soul is great for driving around town, and adequate for long trips. Also, the price is right. It’s definitely worth a test drive.
