Best Prices On 2010 GMC Terrain SLE-2
2010 was the GMC Terrain’s first year. It is built on the same platform as the Chevy Equinox, and was made as a replacement for the discontinued Pontiac Torrent. Despite sharing the Equinox platform, though, the Terrain is it’s own vehicle, and not an Equinox with another nameplate.

The 2010 GMC Terrain SLE-2 s a midsize crossover SUV, and the second of four trim levels. It has a 2.4 liter inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 182 horsepower. It has 17-inch painted alloy wheels, front-wheel drive, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles. It is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
The SLE-2 comes with a leather-wrapped, tilt-telescope steering wheel, an 8-way power driver’s seat with height and lumbar adjustment, reclining, split-folding rear seats, cloth upholstery, cruise control, keyless entry, full-power accessories, 12-volt outlets in the front, rear, and cargo areas, automatic climate control, a roof rack, a rear defogger, rear wipers, a rear liftgate door, automatic headlights, foglights, and a trip computer. The audio system has 8 Pioneer speakers including a subwoofer, AM/FM/satellite radio, a CD/MP3 player, an audio jack, a USB/iPod input, and Bluetooth.
The Terrain also comes with stability control, traction control, side front airbags, side curtain airbags, antilock brakes, and the patented OnStar emergency communication system. The Terrain received perfect scores on all front and side impact tests by both the US government and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Conclusions and driver feedback:
The Terrain has a very nice interior. The dash is very practical and easy to understand, and the materials are top-notch. The design is very attractive, with a modern design. There is plenty of headroom and legroom in both the front and rear seats. Adults can sit comfortably in either seat, even on long trips. There are 31.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the seats, and it expands to 63.7 feet if you fold the rear seat.
The Terrain has a great balance of power to fuel mileage with the 4-cylinder engine. It accelerates well, and cruises effortlessly at highway speeds. The steering and suspension are adjusted in the middle, between sporty performance and passenger comfort. This produces adequate steering, a suspension that allows for some body roll, and a smooth, comfortable ride. The cabin is very quiet, which almost allows passengers to detach.
We actually like this trim level better than the higher two, which trade the comfortable ride for larger wheels, and the excellent mileage for a little more power. All in all, this is a very nice crossover SUV. It combines good mileage, steady performance, and perfect crash test scores. It is good for a single, a couple, four commuters, or a small family. This crossover just might be the ultimate ‘tweener.
The verdict: highly recommended.
