Best Price Deals On 2010 Nissan Sentra 2.0SL’s.
The Nissan Sentra has come a long way since 1982, when it first landed on US shores. It started out as a very plain, boxy subcompact. It would reach compact status in 2001, and finally became a midsize car in 2006. As it has grown, it has become much less plain. It now has sleek aerodynamics and a attractive interior, while keeping the reasonable price and great fuel mileage for its class that the Sentra has always had.

The 2010 Nissan Sentra 2.0SL is the fourth of six trim levels, depending on who you ask. It has a 2.0 liter, inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 140 horsepower. It has 16-inch steel wheels, front-wheel drive, and a continuously variable transmission. It is rated at 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.
The Sentra 2.0SL comes with a leather-covered, tilt-only steering wheel, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a split-folding rear seat, cloth upholstery, full power accessories, cruise control, air conditioning, a rear defogger, foglights, and a trip computer. The audio system has Bluetooth, 6 speakers, AM/FM/satellite radio, a CD/MP3 player, an audio jack, and a USB/iPod input.
The Sentra 2.0 SL also has antilock brakes, stability control, traction control, side front airbags, side curtain airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, and active front head restraints. With the exception of rear seat side impact, which got four out of five stars, the Sentra got the highest marks of 5 stars from the government and “good” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in all side and front impact tests.
Conclusions and driver feedback:
As mentioned earlier, the interior is very nice. The dash combines a futuristic design with orange backlighting, and the interior materials are high-quality and soft. There is plenty of room for both head and feet in both the front and rear seats. The only complaint heard is that there is too much space in the driver’s seat, and smaller drivers might have to shim themselves with cushions to feel comfortable on the pedals and controls. There are also 13.1 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk.
The one thing that hasn’t changed in the standard performance trim levels is, well, standard performance. This Sentra, like those that have come before it, is near the top of its market segment in mileage; the trade-off is that everything else about it is mid-range. The engine provides enough power for adequate acceleration with just a hint of attitude and fairly smooth operation at highway speeds. The steering and suspension are midway between sport and passenger comfort, which provides average handling and an average ride.
Somehow, though, all of this average performance is strangely comforting for veteran Sentra owners. Ultimately, the Sentra is just what it has always been but bigger: a car that gets great fuel economy and gets you from point A to point B at a steady pace and in a reasonably comfortable manner, day after day after day.
The Sentra is very predictable. For family use, where surprises are better kept to a minimum, familiarity breeds comfort.
The verdict: a nice car for conservative use by a single, couple, or family.
